The driving range
Twenty-four bays, floodlit and open into the evening through the winter, so there is no need to stop practising when the clocks change. Both courses start and finish close to the range clubhouse, which means you can warm up properly before a round rather than using the first tee for it.
- 24 bays, floodlit for evening practice
- Open daily from 9.00am, with later finishes midweek
- Baskets of balls from the range clubhouse or the pro shop
- Clubs to hire if you are trying golf for the first time
- Coffee and tea bar beside the bays
Practice greens
As well as the range there is a putting green, a chipping green and a practice bunker, free to members and to anyone playing that day. Most rounds are lost inside a hundred yards, so it is worth twenty minutes before you tee off.
New junior golf lessons
Group lessons for young golfers, from complete beginners upwards, from £15. Juniors learn the swing, the short game and the etiquette that makes them welcome on the course, then move on to the Valley when they are ready. Call the Academy on 01291 430444 to learn more and to book.
Adult lessons
The club professional teaches individual lessons, blocks of lessons at a reduced rate, group courses for beginners and playing lessons out on the course, where most people learn the fastest. If you have never held a club, the beginner course is the place to start: clubs and balls are included, and nobody there will know any more than you do.
Lesson prices depend on the format and length, and blocks work out cheaper than singles. Call 01291 430444 for the current rates and to find a slot that suits.
Junior open days
We run Academy junior open days through the year: a free taster session for children who have never held a club. Keep an eye on the noticeboard in the clubhouse, or ask us to let you know when the next one is booked.
