Dewstow has a thriving Ladies’ section with 80 members, 62
of whom have current handicaps and play regularly in
the numerous competitions, including Club, County and Welsh Qualifying events.
Dewstow is well represented in County qualifying
competitions and has had a team in the County league since 1983, with a 2nd
team being added in 1998. Both teams have done consistently well, with the 1st
team now in Division 1 and the 2nd team in Division 6 in a league
which consists of 10 Divisions.
The ladies are also actively
involved in the Welsh Ladies’ Golfing Union events and each year we send a team
to the Welsh Team Championships.
For several years now the Ladies’ section has also entered
in National Competitions such as the Mail on Sunday team competition and the
Daily Mail Foursomes. In the year 2003, our representatives were particularly
successful in the Daily Mail Foursomes, reaching the 6th of 7 rounds
and being only one match away from the National finals.
The ladies also support the various mixed events and
competitions within the Club and are fortunate to be members of a Club where
they have equal status with the Mens’ Section
