Fresh out of the woodwork. Never cleaned, never touched. The shell of this M42 single decal helmet is maker size/marked ET64 and retains 90% original field green wartime textured paint. There is a considerable amount of patina, light oxidation and dirt over the shell surface. The split-pins are tight have not been tampered with. The Eagle decal shows good detail and is 90% intact. The wartime steel liner band is maker marked and dated 1941. The leather of the liner has a very good look to it showing use but no abuse. The leather has darkened a bit and remains fully intact with no tears or damage. The drawstring is made from a leather strand and is undoubtedly original to the helmet given that it displays identical wear as the liner itself does. The chinstrap is original to the helmet and is matching to the helmet as far as wear and age. It has a faint 1942 date at the tip. There is an acceptance stamp on the inside of the dome. Overall a complete and 100% honest example of a later war combat helmet.
