CADW
"
Dewstow gardens are the largest and most important Pulham Site in
Wales" -
Over the past few
years there have been some major discoveries and developments in the field
of historic parks and gardens in Wales.
One of the most exciting finds has been the Edwardian underground gardens
at Dewstow House, Caldicot, Monmouthshire. This astonishing, grade I,
garden has been found to be far more extensive and complex than originally
thought and is one of the most important gardens in Britain constructed by
James Pulham & Co.
CADW
are have regraded the gardens from 2 *, to Grade 1 listing. This means
that the gardens have been given special historical importance and are in
a very small percentage of Welsh gardens.
