When we first walked through the South Garden area in October 2000, the view was as this shot shows. A vast overgrown area which had been left to the elements and the grazing livestock. Initial clearing started to reveal lots of interesting rock formations and pathways etc. The following images show the garden at various different stages of renovation.
These early pictures show the extent of neglect and the depth of cover in the buried areas.
